BACKGROUND

Delta Sigma Pi is the premier co-ed business fraternity in the United States, with over 260,000 initiates in the U.S. and around the world. Members work together to build professional skills, leadership abilities, management potential, and character. The fraternity’s central office is in Oxford, Ohio, adjacent to the Miami University campus. The organization had a range of challenges, from an unwieldy content management platform to an enormous accumulation of content that needed to be updated, restructured, and reorganized

CHALLENGE

On the front end, the organization needed an eCommerce platform, a custom locator, and other tools and privileges for site members. On the back end, they needed content migrated from Joomla to Sitefinity CMS, a content audit on more than 700 pages and PDF files, and a sitemap to plan redirects for well-established, high-ranking legacy content.

SOLUTION

BoxCrush hand-charted a new sitemap made up of hundreds of web pages and mapped each old URL to redirect to the corresponding page on the new website, preserving existing Google search results, user bookmarks, and thousands of links from third-party websites. This enabled the organization to maintain its favorable Google ranking when the new site was launched.

We also built a custom interface with a pre-existing third-party database to populate map data that could be sorted using different criteria. BoxCrush also developed custom modules allowing users to update their member profiles, submit achievements and life events, buy merchandise from the Deltasig shop, and submit nominations for fraternity boards and committees.
