Background
East Central Indiana CASA is part of the larger CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) organization. CASA is a nonprofit that serves abused and neglected children who need a representative and advocate as they move through the legal system.
Challenge
East Central Indiana CASA had a few key pain points to address. Their website had to meet modern users’ expectations. It had to be easy to navigate both for potential volunteers and for potential donors.
Since CASA is a nonprofit, there can be frequent personnel changes. They needed a CMS that was easy to use for all kinds of stakeholders since most would lack tech knowledge and needed to limit how much editing power each one had so nothing critical was compromised.
Solution
After hearing all of their needs, BoxCrush knew the new website had to be designed on WordPress. It is an incredibly flexible, customizable, and easy-to-use CMS. It also has user permissions that ensure nothing can be broken by a well-intentioned summer intern. Our design team also had a solution for meeting two distinct audiences. There are strategic positions in the design for images and videos to add an emotional appeal for potential volunteers. There is also a clear call-to-action to volunteer with a simple, bold button used on many of the pages. Not everyone who cares about CASA becomes a CASA. Potential donors can easily find what they need by clicking the dominant CTA button in the header of every page. The base design template offers a straightforward, modern look while directing users where they need to go most.
