Writing for the crickets: Why publish content nobody’s reading?

We all know publishing regular content helps drive traffic, build an audience, reinforce brand identity, and put a face to the logo. But it can feel like a low priority when you’ve got tasks like budgeting, strategic planning, and order fulfillment on your plate. Here’s why you should keep trying!

One, it’s driving traffic and search engines love it. According to New York Times best-selling author and marketer/entrepreneur extraordinaire Neil Patel, “In order to boost SEO rankings, gain traffic and/or leads, you need to have great content on your blog or website.”

Two, you’re establishing a record of authoritative content. It won’t happen overnight, but your domain and page rankings will improve over time as other websites (and search engines) recognize your content as accurate and reliable.

Finally, giving your website visitors a soft place to land is sometimes more important than SEO. Although visitors to your site may not interact in those measurable ways we love, your authentic, friendly, and original content still makes an impact. Sharing honest, transparent stories about how your product and your work come to life is something that the algorithm can’t read but will resonate with your audience in long-lasting ways.
